*The power house that is ms. Olivia Rodrigo.*

SOUR. People's Choice Award winner.

When the album was released in May of last year (2021), the world went crazy for it. At the time , the over plays and in-escapable-ness of the songs created distaste. As did the 'cliche' and 'pop' aspects of the album - it was sung every day by someone in close social vicinity; playing on a radio , or through someones' phone , in the car with a friend , at work , by sisters , parents , on the train - it was EVERYWHERE !.

A new popular song release of "All Too Well - 10 minute version" , ms. Rodrigo's documentary , a stupid break up and an entire year later the album began to sound tolerable. 10 plays through from start to finish later , songs were short listed and added to a playlist for multiple more play throughs.

Last night i watched her documentary. She is a very hard person not to like.

*Effortless Olivia*

Along with the rest of the world ( i hope at least ) the documentary solidified what has been said in the media throughout the year since the album release - Olivia - a sweet girl who had her heart broken and shared it with the world.

*Olivia driving around looking cool as heck*

Because come on - she is an absolute power house. I admit to have developed a girl crush along with admiration for her fashion and overall media portrayed personality. I want to be her friend.

I think it is so important and cool that we have a new young female icon to look up to in the world of fame , especially during these absolutely crazy last few years.

I admire her feminine power , expression , expressiveness , style , individuality, pride and purity she portrays through both her music and personal brand. Even if it is all marketing , i am totally falling for it. I think it is so cool that she wrote an album purely based on feeling butt hurt after a break up from some silly boy who didn't treat or appreciate her the way anyone deserves.

*walking around - Olivia - rocking another cool 'fit*

Because , come on. we have all been there. the worst feeling intheworld(maybe not but it sure as heck feels like it) . your heart in your butt , puffy eyes and no appetite. FUKCINGAWESOME. then maybe 3 weeks or 4 later you start to feel anger or closure or regret or pity or loneliness instead . before eventually some hope that maybe you'll be ok again sometime eventually in the future . epic hey. anyways ahah i think it's pretty cool she made an album about feeling all those shitty feelings we all go through whilst not trashing the silly boy she was with , or the girl he now has . So many artists make heartbreak albums but they so often are shitting on their ex - i love and admire how ms. Rodrigo didn't do this and focused more on the feelings of losing that person you trust and spend so much time with. it somehow makes it so much more real and relatable , because so much of the time when you do break up with someone the most common and intensely drowning feeling is missing them . even if they treated you shitty. i think her album really encapsulates all of these feelings we feel from the pre-end of a relationship to finally forgiving yourself , and maybe them and seeing the end of the tunnel to a possible future without them.

*ICON for her: real-ness , power , femininity , encouragement , strength , personality , soial image and presence , relatability and of course , fashion and style*

OLIVIA RODRIGO - i know you will literally never ever see this in your entire life , but thanks for making an album about this all so we can all relate to our emotions a bit more and have a new form of music and arts to associate and deal with them through. you're a pretty cool chick , keep it up - what you're doing is important so thanks. hope you're enjoying life

see you in the future xx

ps. i was totally meant to talk about her fashion but i might just do that another time
